I feel immense pleasure to assume the charge of priviledge position as Vice Chancellor Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science & Technology (QUEST) Nawabshah, where I started my career. I still remember the day when I successed to seek admission in Bachelor of Engineering in Department of Mechanical in 1982.
This successful journey of almost 36 years witnesses my association with QUEST. Starting as a vibrant student, faculty member, Provost (hostels), Chairman Admission Committee, Chairman Mechanical Engineering Department, founder Chairman Energy & Environment Engineering Department, focal person for entry test, Dean Faculty of Engineering, Dean Faculty of Science, Director (P&D), Director (Continuing Education), Editor, Editor-in-Chief and Pro-Vice Chancellor.
Now, I have to lead university as Vice Chancellor at an exciting and indeed a challenging time with more than 300 faculty members, 150 officers, 1000 employees and 4000 students/scholars enrolled in different disciplines of Engineering and Science ranging from undergraduates to post graduates apart from few affiliated college.
I have accepted the challenge to not only nurture and consolidate the current portfolio of programs but also to further extend them according to the need of an hour which requires harmony between efficient management and enhancement of intellectual freedom and creativity.
QUEST is recognized globally and our graduates are efficiently and substantially contributing to professional, social and economic growth both at national and international level. Being Vice Chancellor, I have many plans to attain the glories yet of course with my team, knowing that in very short time, I with my most qualified team need to set priorities, our focus is on the following most important targets; students, interactive teaching and learning environment, need to focus on learning rather teaching, execute innovative methodologies, like group discussion, inquiry based syllabus further, university need to enhance its established art of laboratories for use of students, faculty and industry in the best interest of research output and relevance to society. Finally, university must not only strengths its existing linkage with other national and international institutions but also creates possibilities for new linkages with institutes of higher ranking globally.
